Václav Havel and the Art of Adaptation

Magisterský seminář Václav Havel and the Art of Adaptation na Helsinské univerzitě nabízí studentům možnost číst Havlova dramata jako součást živého literárního dialogu se světovou tradicí. Studenti v něm čtou Havlovy hry souběžně s jejich literárními vzory: Pokoušení vedle faustovských děl Goetha a Thomase Manna a Odcházení vedle Shakespearova Krále Leara a Čechovova Višňového sadu. Seminář je určen finským i zahraničním studentům a vede jej Dr. Jitka Štollová (Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies).

The MA seminar Václav Havel and the Art of Adaptation at the University of Helsinki invites students to read Havel's plays as part of a living literary dialogue with the wider European tradition. Students read Havel's plays alongside their literary sources: Temptation alongside Goethe's and Thomas Mann's Faustian works, and Leaving alongside King Lear and The Cherry Orchard. The seminar is open to Finnish and international students and is led by Dr. Jitka Štollová (Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies).
